STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Learning about the world on President’s Day. That’s what residents did Monday night in Starkville thanks to a partnership with Mississippi Geographic Alliance.
The partnership includes the Starkville Okitbbeha Consolidated School District and Mississippi State University.
Kids and parents at Armstrong Middle School got the chance to learn about Asia and all the countries in it with an interactive floor map and posters.
Professors say the goal of the interactive lessons is to excite students to learn more about the world.
“Really what it all comes down to is inspiring students to want to learn more about the world. As far as I’m concerned, I think the people in the middle school, and the people here in the school district really want that. And I know the people at Mississippi State do so we’re all working together to do that and giving up our time to make that happen.”>
MSU professors and Armstrong staff continue lessons about the Far East Tuesday.
