Video: Amory Residents Honor Veterans Ahead of Independence Day

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – Amory residents took time out to honor area veterans this holiday weekend. Several guest speakers were on hand to thank those who have fought for our country, including Congressman Trent Kelly, who also served in the military.

Veterans say celebrating the Fourth of July is something to be proud of.

” We need good soldiers and we need a good, strong military. So, celebrating the fourth of July, our freedom, our way of life is something we all outta be proud of.”

” Well I just thank God for the veterans and the families who allowed us to borrow their soldiers, sailors, airman and marines to serve this great nation because they served as great as we did.”

Veterans and their families were also treated to barbeque from the Smoky Brothers in Amory.
