AMORY, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – Amory High School was one of the last football head coaching vacancies in the area until the Panthers announced their new head man Tuesday.
The school introduced Allen Glenn as its next head football coach. He will take over after the departure of Ben Ashley earlier this month.
“The passion that I have for this place is unmatched,” Glenn said. He’s an Amory native and an AHS graduate. “I love this place. My family is here.”
Glenn helped Amory to a football state championship win in 1998 as a player. He also won two baseball titles while in high school before playing football for Ole Miss in 2001 and 2002.
“I’ve always had aspirations to be a head football coach and I’m blessed that it’s in my hometown,” he said.
Glenn has been the Tupelo High School offensive coordinator under head coach Trent Hammond the past two seasons. He spent four years as an assistant at Louisville High School after time as a student coach under then Ole Miss head coach David Cutcliffe.
