Video: Amory Goes Purple For Alzheimer’s Awareness

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — Amory residents paint the town purple from head to toe in honor of Alzheimer’s Day.
The Mississippi Department of Mental Health along with Alzheimer’s Association of Mississippi encouraged Amory and other towns in the state to wear purple to show their support.
Residents even displayed ribbons and bows at their homes in honor of this world event.
Research shows in 2010, 927 deaths in Mississippi were related to the disease.
Alzheimer’s currently affects 51,000 Mississippians.
