Video: Alabama Students Join in on “Read Across America” Day

MILLPORT, Ala. (WCBI) – The world of Dr. Suess came alive in classrooms across the country Wednesday.

Read Across America Day is being celebrated by kids, young and old.

Students at South Lamar School, in Millport, Alabama, dressed up and listened to  their favorite Dr. Seuss stories Wednesday morning.

Guest readers, including WCBI’s Joey Barnes, read all of the children’s book classics, including “Green Eggs and Ham.”

In fact, that’s what the students had to eat for breakfast.

Teachers and students even decorated the hallways in their favorite Dr. Seuss theme for a contest.

This is an annual event at South Lamar.
