VIDEO: Alabama Man Pleads Guilty In Lowndes Manslaughter

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Vernon, Alabama man pleads guilty to manslaughter today in connection with a deadly shooting at a Lowndes County bar.

James Newell was given ten years to serve in prison with credit for time served.

He’s been in jail since the May 2008 shooting death of Adrian Boyette outside the Slab House, near the Alabama stateline.

Newell has been convicted twice of manslaughter but a new trial was ordered each time.
