Video: Alabama Governor OK’s Grant For Vernon

VERNON & MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WCBI) — A Lamar County city receives a care package to prepare for future business. Alabama Governor Robert Bentley awarded the City of Vernon with a $100,000 grant to streamline infrastructure improvements to make possible a new 6,000 square foot K and S Lumber Co. wood processing plant.

The plant would produce railroad ties, wood chips, firewood and other wood products. The grant will be administered by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.
