Video: Ackerman Replacing Aging Water Meters

ACKERMAN, Miss. (WCBI) – Ackerman city leaders began replacing old water meters Tuesday.

The $200,000.00 project allows for the replacement of 850 new meters.

The new meters should give a more accurate reading when scanned by an employee.

Currently, it takes two city workers two days to get an accurate reading. The new meters will take one employee only three to four hours to do the job.

“Some of these meters have been in the ground twenty, thirty, forty years and one of the benefits is going to be that a new meter records better usage.”

The new meters are more efficient and will save the city money.
