Video: Accused Murderer to get Psychiatric Evaluation

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) -A man accused of killing his father and shooting at law enforcement in Clay County has been transferred to East Mississippi State Hospital for a mental evaluation.

Steven Jessie Harris has been in jail for more than a decade.

This week a chancery court judge ordered a mental evaluation for Harris.

Today, a bed opened up for Harris. He could be gone for as long as 90 days.

Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott says the evaluation will be sent back to the chancery court for a review by the judge.
