ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI)-Aberdeen residents are celebrating Martin Luther King Junior’s birthday with a banquet.

The Aberdeen and Monroe County Chapter of the NAACP hosted the event; which was held at the American Legion 26.

The tickets were $15. All proceeds from Friday night’s event will benefit the Sisters Network for Breast Cancer and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Aberdeen will host several other events this weekend to continue the celebration.
