COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. (WCBI) – Some local high school students considering a career in the armed forces get a private tour of the Columbus Air Force Base. Students from the Aberdeen High School Air Force JROTC toured the base this morning.
They got started on the flight line, getting an up-close look at the aircraft. They also toured the fire department and later the maintenance facility where they saw mechanics working on a T-38.
For some, the experience helped finalize their career choice.[TAKE SOT]
“This is a great way to be able to know what I want to do for the next twenty or thirty years of my life. Actually I want to retire from this because I think this is a great way to give back to my adoptive country that given a lot to my family and I for the past fourteen or fifteen years that I have been in the United States.”
Around 30 students from the JROTC program took the tour today.
