Video: Aberdeen Fire Department Makes Donation to Injured Firefighter’s Family

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) -He made a career serving his community, now that community is coming to his aid.

Derrick Paine spent 8 years as a firefighter in Aberdeen, but a motorcycle accident in April left him badly injured, and left his family with mounting medical costs.

His co-workers started raising money to help with those costs. Soon, area residents, and people from across North Mississippi joined in.

Monday night, the Aberdeen Fire Department presented the Paine family with a check from the fundraising efforts.

Paine is currently in a full-time care facility..
