Video: A Pair of Thieves Still on the Lam After Afternoon Burglary Attempt

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) -A vigilant neighbor peppered a burglar’s getaway truck with four shotgun blasts, but the thieves remain on the run from Sheriff’s deputies.

The two men were trying to break into a home on South Frontage Road in Lowndes County about 10 this morning when they were interrupted.

As they fled in a Silverado pick up the neighbor shot at them, flattening a tire.

The truck got about half a mile and was parked in the woods behind Fed Ex.

Deputies found it about an hour later and the two men fled.

A friend they’d called to pick them up was detained by deputies.

A tracking dog was unable to find the burglars. The truck was confiscated.
