Columbus, Miss.[WCBI]-Five Columbus Police officers are handed the keys to their brand new patrol car.
The new vehicles could be seen on the streets today[Monday]. The new 2014 Dodge Chargers will be used in responding to calls and providing needed service to the citizens of the Friendly City. Officers of the patrol division were instructed by Police Chief Selvan McQueen to drive carefully as they keep themselves and the residents of Columbus safe. For the officers with smiles on their faces, the time is right.
“We got some that are 2000 in the fleet that we still use. The newest ones that we’ve been using are the 08s and 09s. They’re getting pretty high mileage and worn out, so we were very glad to get this added to our fleet,” said James Grant, Patrol Division Commander.
One of those new dodge chargers will be driven by Assistant Police Chief Tony Carlton.
