Vardaman man arrested on child sex crime charge

VARDAMAN, Miss. (WCBI)- A Vardaman man is facing charges after police say he’s accused of touching a child.

Police Chief Kenneth Brown said Joe Atkinson was charged with Touching a Child for Lustful purposes.

The victim, police said, was 12 years old.

Atkinson was jailed on a $100,000 bond.

DHS was also involved in the case.
