UPDATE – Victim Of West Point Concert Shooting Identified

WEST POINT (WCBI ) – Authorities have released the name of the West Point woman killed early Friday morning while attending a rap concert.  Dajah Shaw is the young woman hit by gunfire when bullets started lying during the Moneybag Yo concert at the Bryan Union Hall.  Witnesses say Shaw was caught in the crossfire .  She was carried to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus where she was pronounced dead.

According to Tim Brinkley, West Point Police Chief, “We have recovered shell casings from at least two different weapons but it’s not clear who started the shooting or why. These incidents are particularly challenging for investigators because of the large number of people and the low lighting of the venue that tend to distort the perception of any witnesses.”

Police are investigating the incident, interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. A list of suspects is being developed.
