UPDATE – Officials Confirm Victim Shot By TPD Officer Dies

TUPELO, MS ( WCBI) – A man shot by a Tupelo Police officer Saturday night has died.  Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green confirms the wounds suffered were fatal.

The incident started around 10 Saturday evening during a traffic stop in the Lee Acres neighborhood . The suspect fled on foot and was located hiding under a home on Harrison Street. That’s when some type of fight ensued and the man was shot. Tupelo Police have not yet released an official statement on what happened.   More information including the name of the dead man is expected Sunday afternoon
