UPDATE: Kidnapping Suspect Nabbed

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) -The man wanted for an alleged abduction in Lowndes County is in custody.

Lowndes County Chief Deputy Marc Miley confirmed with WCBI that Christopher Austin Tedford was captured around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Tedford was wanted for the abduction of Carrie Pannell, his estranged girlfriend.

Earlier Tuesday, Pannell and a witness went to pick Tedford up at a residence in Tony Cove.

The witness was told by the homeowner that “no one was here by that name.”

While talking with the homeowner, the witness heard screaming, and saw Tedford jump into a vehicle with Pannell.

Speeding off, Tedford drove away from the scene with Pannell.

Miley says victim is okay.
