UPDATE – Former Band Director Makes First Court Appearance
MANTACHIE ( WCBI) – Bond is set at $60,000 for the former Mantachie High School Band Director.
Josh Robinson made his first court appearance Monday morning following his Friday night arrest.
Itawamba County investigators picked Robinson up at a Tupelo home after a due process hearing ruled enough evidence existed to charge hims with sexual assault and enticement. The case developed rapidly after text messages between Robinson and a student surfaced. Itawamba County Sheriff Chris Dickinson says the current charges are limited to one student and one case but adds the investigation is continuing and multiple students could be involved.
Robinson, who served as band director for two years was fired one week ago because the text messages violated school policy.
