Update: Arrests Made In Clay County Double Homicide

CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) – Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott has announced the arrests in the murder case of Kentario L. Boyd and Kenya Campbell that occurred on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in western Clay County.

Investigators with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations have arrested and charged Shundray Johnson, age 22 of Mantee and Tabarrius Coffey, age 24 of Calhoun City each with 2 counts of murder. Investigators made the arrests in the early morning hours of Friday, March 17, 2017. Scott stated that an around the clock investigation conducted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation along with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Department of Corrections, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Marshal Service resulted in the quick apprehension of the murder suspects.

Scott credited the cooperation and experience of the assisting agencies along with the information received from the community in the arrest of Johnson and Coffey. Arraignments are set for 2:00 p.m. at the Clay County Justice Court Complex in West Point, MS.
