Two injured in Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured.

Police Chief Fred Shelton says his department got a call just before 4:30 pm Thursday afternoon of a shooting on 5th Avenue South.

When officers arrived at the home they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle.

A second gunshot victim also showed up at the hospital.

Shelton says it’s unclear if that man was at the home at the time of the shooting.

One individual has turned themselves in to police.

That person is being considered a person of interest at this time.
