Tupelo to supply water to Hive Industrial Business Park
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The city of Tupelo will supply water for a business park that is being developed in the west side of town.
The city partnered with the Northeast Mississippi Regional Water Supply District to build a new water supply line to the Hive.
That line will start near Harrisburg Baptist Church and continue to the 1,000 acre business and industrial park that is being developed.
Tupelo Water and Light Director Johnny Timmons said the $1.6 million project will help the foster future economic development for the region.
“This is a big section of property, good thing about it is, it ties into new Highway six, so it gives a lot of transportation traffic across Highway six to get out to the site, if you look at aerial photos, it will be a real success,” said Timmons.
A potential tenant has reportedly expressed interest in the Hive.
The Community Development Foundation is leading recruitment efforts for tenants and businesses at the industrial park.
