Video: Tupelo Police Athletic League Named Grand Marshals For 2017 Reed’s Christmas Parade
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Members of the Tupelo Police Athletic League will serve as Grand Marshals of the “Tupelo Reed’s Christmas Parade.”
That announcement was made this afternoon at PAL headquarters, as youngsters were taking part in after school activities.
The theme for this year’s parade is “A Community Christmas” and organizers say it made sense to highlight the Police Athletic League and the positive impact the program and its volunteers have on young people .
“It shows we do have the right mentors and right role models here that are trying to direct our kids, we’re very proud of all the different programs we offer and proud of the dedication they have to the program,” said TPD Maj. Anthony Hill.
“What a better choice for Grand Marshal than these young men involved in our Police Athletic League, and it’s an opportunity for our community to see what a great program we have for these children,” said Debbie Brangenberg, of Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association.
The Reed’s Christmas Parade is set for Friday night, December 1st, at 7 pm. Deadline to register is November third. More than 3,000 people will be part of the parade.
