Tupelo Native Gets State Elections Post
Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann is pleased to announce Kim Turner has been chosen to lead the Office of the Secretary of State’s Elections Division. Turner was promoted to the position after serving as Senior Attorney in the Elections Division.
“Kim is already well-versed in election law and familiar with elections officials across the State,” says Hosemann. “There is no doubt her promotion to Assistant Secretary of State for Elections will be a seamless transition. We are lucky to have her experience in our Agency.”
Some of Turner’s responsibilities include overseeing the administration of elections in Mississippi, functioning as legal counsel on elections issues to the Secretary of State, supervising elections staff, and serving as a liaison with Circuit Clerks and county election officials.
A Tupelo native, Turner received both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law.
“Secretary Hosemann and I share the same dedication to honest and transparent elections,” says Turner. “I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with both him and other election officials across the State to promote fair elections in Mississippi.”
Turner and her husband have one child, Nolan. The Turner family resides in Jackson and attends St. Andrew’s Cathedral.
