Tupelo Mourns Unexpected Death Of Veteran Detective

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The Tupelo Police Department and the city of Tupelo is mourning the unexpected death of a veteran detective.

Detective Steven Wade passed away after suffering a heart attack at his home in Pontotoc County this morning, March 27.

Wade was known for his work with youth court, and he also led many sessions of the Citizens Police Academy.

He was a 12 year veteran of the Tupelo Police Department and he also served in the US Army and the National Guard.

Details on visitation and the funeral service haven’t been finalized yet.
