Tupelo Homicide Investigation, Police Searching For Suspect
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)- Tupelo police are searching for a woman who is accused of killing her boyfriend.
On Wedensday afternoon, Tupelo Police received a call from the Jones County Sheriff’s Department in south Mississippi. Jones County deputies received a letter from a women saying she had killed her boyfriend and his body was at his Tupelo home.
Tupelo police went to the house on Rollingwood Drive, in south Tupelo, but could not get anyone to answer the door. A relative was called, who let police in, and they found the victim inside the home. It is unclear how he was killed.
Now, police are searching for Leah Bishop. She could be driving a gray 2005 Dodge Stratus.
Tupelo investigators say Bishop sent the letter to Jones County deputies and was the victim’s boyfriend.
“She is to be considered armed and dangerous , and at this time we have alerted authorities throughout the state to be on the lookout for this person,” said Tupelo Police Chief Bart Aguirre.
Police say Bishop may have died her hair blonde.
Investigators aren’t sure why she sent the letter to Jones County law enforcement, however, she does have a military background and may have some connection to Camp Shelby.
