Tupelo Chief Operations Officer Don Lewis drops out of mayoral race

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – One of the first people to announce a run for the Tupelo mayoral seat is out before qualifying begins.

Tupelo Chief Operations Officer Don Lewis announced his intention to run for mayor back in August.

Today, he tells WCBI his candidacy is over.

Lewis was planning to run on the Republican ticket

Qualifying begins in January and the election will take place this June.
