Tupelo Businessman Headed To Prison
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) – A federal judge has sentenced Tupelo businessman Ray Shoemaker to 55 months in federal prison, a $10,000 fine and three years’ post-release supervision on six counts related to a kickback conspiracy. The crimes centered on Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, of which Shoemaker was the administrator.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports (http://bit.ly/RedALZ) Shoemaker was given until Nov. 1 to report to a Bureau of Prisons facility yet to be named.
A federal jury convicted Shoemaker of 10 counts of a 12-count indictment in February.
