Tupelo-based company gives back with ‘Harvest of Hope’
1,000 food boxes will be given away December 16, as part of the "Harvest of Hope."
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Team members from Bobby Brock Insurance took a break from office duties, to pack boxes of food at the Tupelo Furniture Market.
1,000 food boxes will be given away Saturday morning, as part of the “Harvest of Hope.”
“Northeast Mississippi area has been so good to us and we see a need. Coming from different layoffs that happen, inflation, hopefully, we can make a small impact. Kind of set a precedent to get other businesses that are currently doing well to pony up and give back too,” said Justin Brock.
Brooks Grocery has partnered with Bobby Brock Insurance this year. Along with the nonperishable items, such as vegetables, potatoes, and dessert, a $25 gift certificate to Brooks Grocery is in each box.
The response was so good last year that Bobby Brock Insurance is expecting even more people to turn out for this year’s Harvest of Hope.
Team members said it’s a lot of work but they are glad they can make Christmas brighter for some families.
“Community outreach is really important to Bobby Brock Insurance. We love our community, and if there’s a need we want to help in any way we can. Especially during the holidays. And doing good things for people, makes everyone feel good,” said Tempest Brock.
“This has been a blast. Last year all our families got together. We did this. Packing the boxes and handing them out. It’s a two-day event. We get everyone together, enjoy what we do,” said Steven Martinez.
Team members will hand out the food boxes on Saturday morning, December 16, in front of Building 5 of the Tupelo Furniture Market.
The food box giveaway starts at 8 a.m. There will be a limit of one food box per car. If someone needs more than one, they will be asked to get back in line to make sure there are enough food boxes for everyone.
