Truck Wins Battle Versus Building

EUPORA (WCBI) – Minor cuts to one person after an 18 wheeler plows into a Eupora business.  Everything unfolded around 11:30 Thursday at HPJ Industries on Veterans Memorial Highway.

An 18-wheeler slammed into HPJ Industries.

Webster County Investigator, Landon Griffin, says the truck had just arrived at the warehouse to pick up a load of metal pallets.

Two people were inside the 18-wheeler and when they arrived, they didn’t see any warehouse employees.

That’s when the driver got out of the truck to go find someone.

Griffin says when the driver found someone, the two got to talking and the truck started rolling down the hill.

The warehouse employee saw it happening and told the driver, but Griffin says the driver told the worker he didn’t think it was a problem because there was another person inside the truck.

But that person was in the back of the truck and was unable to stop it.

That’s when it crashed into the warehouse.

No major injuries were reported.
