Tremont To Shut Off Water Thursday To Fix Leak

TREMONT, Miss. (WCBI-TV) – People living in Tremont will be without water for at least part of the day Thursday.

Tremont Town Clerk Windy Abbot says workers will turn off the water supply at 7:30 a.m. to locate and fix a leak in the town’s main line, near the water tank.

She says they hope to have the water back on by Thursday afternoon but they won’t know the severity of the leak until they start digging.

After workers fix the leak, there will be a boil water notice. People will have to boil their water for at least a minute before drinking it.

She says they hope to lift the notice by Monday.
