COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Several travel writers from across the country are in Columbus, Sunday, to check out the area.
The group got an inside tour of the city on a double decker bus, then stopped to see playwright Tennessee Williams’ home, which is now the welcome center.
They’re stopping through Columbus before making their way to Biloxi for a writers convention.
Janice Nieder, who’s visiting from San Francisco, says this is her first time in Mississippi, and so far she’s impressed.
“I think Columbus is absolutely gorgeous,” Nieder said. “Unfortunately, we just have three hours here. I would think we could’ve totally used three days here.”
Nieder says she’ll be back to visit.
These writers are spending several days touring the Magnolia State before they attend the convention.
