Traffic stop leads to weapons charge for Iuka man
TISHOMINGO COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A man wanted for a warrant in Tishomingo County now faces a weapons charge.
Brandon Carter, 37, of Iuka, was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Carter had also been indicted recently by a grand jury for possession of methamphetamine.
Carter was a passenger in a car that was pulled over on Highway 72 for a traffic violation on June 26. While talking to the driver, deputies recognized Carter as having an outstanding warrant, and also for possible parole violations.
After confirming Carter was wanted, deputies searched the car and found a gun and several types of drug paraphernalia.
Carter’s bond for the weapons charge was set at $10,000. His bond for the warrant was set at $3,000.
Carter also has a hold on him from the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
