Tornado disaster relief efforts continue

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Southwire cable facility in Starkville has spent three days collecting disaster relief items for Columbus tornado victims.

The company set up shop Saturday in the Walmart parking lot in Starkville.

They are taking donations from shoppers like canned goods, snack items, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies.

This is all part of the companies non-profit organization called “Project Gift.”

“We had some employees and their families that were affected by the tornado and at Southwire we really feel that it’s important to give back to the communities where we live and work and this is one of those things we do on a regular basis. We reach out to those folks in need and right now the folks in Columbus are in need,” said Southwire employee Kersha Cartwright.

Southwire will distribute goods to tornado victims on Sunday.
