Toddler Dies in Winston County Car Accident

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A toddler in Winston County died Friday after being accidentally hit by a car.

Three-year old Jaylen Jones of Louisville was air-lifted to University Medical Center in Jackson about 5 pm on Friday.  According to Winston County Coroner Scott Gregory, Jones died while in emergency surgery. It’s believed that a relative hit the child while in the driveway.  The autopsy is scheduled for Monday at the Mississippi Crime Lab in Jackson. Authorities say the death of three year-old Jaylen Jones is still under investigation but it appears to be the result of a tragic accident.
