Third Person Dies After Monroe County Car Crash

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI-TV) – A third person has died after a Sunday morning car crash in Monroe County.

Coroner Alan Gurley says 71-year-old Aline Howell of Azusa, California died Tuesday after suffering injuries Sunday. She was a passenger in the car her husband, Quincy Howell was driving. He and 20-year-old Lamonica Denise Rupert of Tupelo also died.

The three were involved in a head-on crash near the Highway 25, Highway 45 Alternate bridge Sunday morning. Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says one of the cars involved was going south in the northbound lane.
