Theft, Assault Charges Filed
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus woman is accused of stealing from her employer.
Columbus Police say 35-year-old Layce Reedwood is charged with embezzlement for falsifying returns at Advanced Auto Parts.She was arrested Tuesday at the business. No bond or court date has been set.
In an unrelated case, three women are busted in what Columbus Police say is a theft scheme at a local business.
Natasha Taylor, 24, of Columbus, is charged with embezzlement and Keosha Cunningham, 19, of Millport, Ala., and Teandra Bobo, 23, of Columbus, are charged with false pretense as a result of the investigation.
Police say Taylor worked at the Dollar General on Highway 69 South and was falsifying returns for Taylor and Bobo and they were splitting the money. No bond or court date has been set.
In a separate case, a Columbus man is charged with aggravated assault for beating another man.
Charlie Owens Jr., 30, was arrested Tuesday in connection with an Oct. 2. assault on Tamarcus Thomas at the Valencia Apartments on Columbus’ Southside.
His bond is set at $5,000.
