Tennessee murder suspect found dead in Jasper County
JASPER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The body of murder suspect Casey Lawhorn has been found in Jasper County.
The Jones County Sheriff’s Department says the 22-year-old was found dead with what appears to be a self inflicted gun shot.
Lawhorn is wanted for killing two people in Tennessee and has been the subject of manhunt near I-59 in Jasper County, Mississippi.
He was traveling in a 2002 gold Ford Taurus, which was found abandoned in the southbound shoulder of I-59 in Jasper County, around five miles from the store where he was last seen.
Lawhorn used social media to claim responsibility for the deaths of his mother, Vi Lawhorn, and a friend, Avery Gaines, earlier on Sunday.
The body was found about a hundred yards from Lawhorn’s car.
