Teachers and guards benefit in Bryant budget plan
JACKSON ( WCBI) Governor Phil Bryant released his budget plan for the next fiscal year later Thursday afternoon.
Bryant says this proposed budget contains no cuts to any agency budgets and increases in several areas. The Governor wants the legislature to set aside $50 million to fund a teacher pay raise phased in over two years. Corrections officers would also see a pay raise under the governor’s proposed budget.
