Video: Task Force Tackles Affordable Housing Options For Homeless

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Helping the homeless find affordable housing, and also better coordinating services for the needy, those were some topics addressed at a meeting of Tupelo’s Homelessness Task Force.

The task force discussed options for those looking to get off of the streets, and how various agencies and non profits can better work together to provide assistance to the homeless, or those on the verge of homelessness.

Realtors, pastors, along with leaders in the public and private sectors make up the task force.

“Collaboration and partnership are key to meet any community need, whether it be homelessness, food insecurity, anything,  you have to identify stakeholders in the community, and foster communication to actually identify the issues and ways to address those issues,” said Task Force Member Hannah Maharrey.
