Video: Suspect In Custody After Deadly Noxubee Shooting

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Charges are pending against a man arrested in connection with a deadly Noxubee County shooting.

Noxubee County Terry Grassaree tells WCBI the Sunday night shooting happened at a night club on Gillespie Road.

Andrew Quintrell Sherrod, 34, and Deangelo Martin, both of Noxubee County, were found shot at the scene by deputies.

Noxubee County Coroner R.L. Calhoun says Sherrod died at Noxubee General Hospital.

Martin was treated at Noxubee General Hospital and is expected to recover.

Cedric Shantel Carter, 35, is in custody at the Noxubee County Jail. Charges are pending against him, according to Grassaree.

Investigators have not said what led up to the shooting.

Calhoun says it appears Sherrod was shot twice. However, an autopsy will conducted in Pearl to determine how many times Sherrod was shot.
