STARKVILLE, Miss. – (WCBI)- Students from all over the country apply and participate in Mississippi State University’s Summer Scholar program.
Students as young as 12 and as old as 18 are earning college credit at a theatre summer camp.
The students in the program help write, direct, and perform their own theatrical production. They are selected for individually designed roles based on recommendations from their teachers and their own interests.
The students worker close together all summer and strong bonds are formed. One student from Detroit, MI said, “It’s like different people coming from different places to come together and make it one big production. It’s like a second family.”
You can see the performance Friday night at 7:00 PM or Saturday at 1:00 PM. It is free and open to the public.
