Video: Students Learning To Lead At Local Conference
MAYHEW, Miss. (WCBI) – Local high school students are getting advice and inspiration from business and community leaders.
Around fifty 9th thru 12th graders attended the inaugural Northeast Mississippi Student Leadership Conference on the EMCC campus Friday.
The two-day event includes workshops, speakers, and other activities that encourage academic excellence, civic involvement, and leadership development.
Event organizers say the conference is helping to prepare these students for the future.
Conference director Marjada Tucker says the information at the conference is also beneficial to students who may be looking at alternatives to a traditional four-year college.
