Student Charged With Having Weapon At School
CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI) – A Corinth High School student is facing charges after police say he brought a weapon to school and threatened another student.
Zerek Hurd, 18, is charged with possession of a weapon by a student which is felony. He’s also charged with carrying a concealed a weapon, a misdemeanor.
School district officials say administrators got reports of the threat Thursday morning and placed the campus on lockdown.
Once the investigation began, administrators discovered Hurd had left the campus.
He was later stopped and detained by a highway patrol officer. A search revealed the weapon.
Hurd is still in custody on a $10,000 bond.
