Strong Storms Roar Through North Mississippi
NORTH MISSISSIPPI (WCBI)- Strong storms quickly rolled through late Tuesday packing a punch with high winds and heavy rain.
In Eupora, strong winds knocked a tree down on top of a home on Adam’s Avenue.
Crews on scene say two people were inside the home when it happened. They were trapped inside from the debris after the tree fell on the home.
Both individuals were taken to an area hospital. One person suffered a dislocated wrist and the other resident had some sort of shoulder or back injury, according to emergency responders.
Damage was reported in New Albany, Prentiss County, Lee County and Starkville.
Trees were reported down along Highway 12 between Sturgis and Starkville.
Lowndes County officials report several trees down. One on North Wolf Road near Caledonia.
Several areas are also reporting power outages.
