Statewide lockdown lifted at most state & private prisons

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI)- The lockdown at state and private prisons, along with county facilities has been lifted at most locations.

This includes the Chickasaw County Regional Correctional Facility.

Sheriff James Meyers is not authorized to talk about the deadly stabbing death of 26-year-old Gregory Emary on January first.

Emary was a state inmate being housed in Chickasaw County.

Meyers did tell WCBI the two other unidentified inmates that were injured in the deadly brawl have been released from the hospital.

The Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman is still on lockdown, where state troopers continue to watch guard.
