State Flag To Go Back Up At Pontotoc City Hall

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi’s state flag continues to waive controversy in north Mississippi.

Pontotoc Mayor Bob Peeples originally removed the flag from the city hall, but following a special meeting it’s set to fly again.

Mayor Peeples says he removed the flag six weeks ago, however he did not go into detail about why he decided to bring it down.

That decision left many people wondering why, and wanting for an explanation.

Peeples explained his reasoning to the public earlier tonight in the special called meeting.

Despite the mayor’s efforts, aldermen voted 4 to 1 to bring the flag back.
