State correction officer arrested, sexual charges cited

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A state correction officer is accused of having sexual relations with an offender in Lee County.

Tom Speaks was arrested earlier today following a complaint with the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit.

Speaks faces 2 Conspiracy to Engage in Sexual Activity Between Certain Individuals and an Offender charges.

Also tacked onto his rap sheet is an Obscene Electronic Communications charge.

Speaks has since posted his $10,000 bond.
