Starkville & Tupelo Community Actors Win Top Honors

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – Starkville and Tupelo’s creative communities come home big winners from the Mississippi Theater Association competition in Oxford.

Starkville’s award winning community theater company claimed Best Production for “A Catered Affair,” along with Tupelo Community Theater’s “Lone Star.” Madeline Golden and Kris Lee with SCT were tapped as Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor, while Paul Ruff, Callie West and John Brocato were named to the All Star Cast.

Actors in Tupelo’s community theater also claimed top awards. Jamie Fair was named Best Actor, John McCustion was Best Supporting Actor while Nathan Taylor was named to All Star Cast.

This means that both theater companies will be moving on the compete at the Southeastern Theater Competition in Chattanooga in March.

Group Musical,second place – Kathleen Ritter, Noah Knox, Meghan Wolf
