Video: Starkville Students Win National Art Awards
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The award-winning artwork of two Starkville High School students will soon be on display in prominent places.
Marika Dunne won Best in Show in the Congressional Art Competition. And Riley Hardy won an American Visions Silver Medal in the National Scholastic Art Competition.
Dunne’s work will hang in the U.S. Capitol for a year. Hardy’s piece will be on exhibit at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Both are students in Andrew Lark’s art class at the high school and say his guidance helped them create their masterpieces.
Dunne will travel to Washington and Hardy to New York to be officially honored.
